How To Add Text To An Animation

Text On Animated Images

The first thing you need to do is save an animated gif to a file. I have a folder that I keep all my animations in.

Now open up your Paint Shop Pro Animation Shop.

Then go to File and click on Open, or click on the yellow folder to open a file

Navigate to the folder where your animations are kept. Open that folder and click on the animation gif that you want to use and click on the open button. This will open up the animation in several frames on the screen.

Next you go to the toolbar at the top and click on Animation then Insert Frames and then Empty. This will add an extra empty frame with no gif in it.

Now you are ready to decide where you would like the text depending on how much blank space you have to place it in. Go to your toolbar where all your tools for PSP are located.

Click on the cross (+) in the toolbar. Now move your cursor on a frame with the gif in it and click where you want the text to appear.

Next go to the eye dropper and select a color you want the text to be. Then go and Click on A for the text....a window will open and you can choose what font style , bold, italic or regular text so make your choices and click OK.

Then go to the the box without a image (should be the first on the left hand side) and click on or near the cross and your text should appear. Play with it until you get it where you want it to be placed.

This is the fun part now. Be sure you go to the top of the left hand side toolbar and click on the white arrow then go to top toolbar and click on Edit and copy.

Now go down to the image frames and start with the one to the right of the blank frame. Highlight that frame, using the white arrow, but this time go to the top toolbar and click on Paste and then "Into Selected Frame" and the text should appear! Continue doing this until all the fames have the indential text in them.

Now for the final touches..... Now go back to the blank frame and right click on it and then click delete. The frame will disappear. Now to see your gif with the text you have added. Go to the top toolbar and click on the icon that looks like a piece of photo film and click to see your animation work. WALLAH!!

Now you should see your animation with the text in it. If not you goofed! LOL Now go to file and Save As and name it and save to your animation folder. And follow the next three steps to finish the animation process. If you still need help, Please contact me and I will help you.

GOOD LUCK!!! HAVE FUN!
